The Upper Ottawa Valley Heritage Centre will host an intimate concert by local folk singer-songwriter Marc Audet on March 14, offering audiences a musical reflection on the region’s history and culture.
Audet will perform a two-hour show beginning at 7 p.m. in Founders Hall at the museum. The concert, titled Forgotten Memories of the Ottawa Valley, combines original songs and storytelling with projected images and video exploring themes such as early river travel, logging, farming and rural life in the Ottawa Valley.
The performance marks Audet’s return to the Heritage Centre after a three-year absence. Since his last appearance, the show has been expanded with new visual elements designed to complement the music and historical narratives presented alongside the museum’s collection of artifacts and exhibits.
Tickets are $15 and are available for purchase at the Upper Ottawa Valley Heritage Centre, located at 1032 Pembroke Street East. Payment can be made by cash, credit card, debit, or e-transfer. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and refreshments will be available.
Audet is a Canadian folk musician from the Ottawa Valley whose songwriting is shaped by an interest in local history, inspired in part by exploring the remnants of old settlements and river-based industries throughout the region.
The Upper Ottawa Valley Heritage Centre is operated by the Ottawa Valley Historical Society and houses a collection of more than 10,000 artifacts documenting the area’s past.
