Frigid temperatures and frequent snowfall continue throughout the region this winter so the City of Pembroke is reminding residents to do their part to support winter maintenance operations.
The city’s operations department says residents are responsible for clearing their own driveways, including driveway entrances, as municipal crews do not provide that service. Those needing assistance are encouraged to register for the city’s Snow Angels program.
Officials also remind residents to keep vehicles and trailers off sidewalks and to avoid shovelling or blowing snow onto roadways, actions that can hinder plowing and create safety hazards.
Remember also to keep outdoor vents clear of snow to avoid possible deadly Carbon Monoxide gas to back up into your home.
