A water main break caused some disruptions for residents in Cobden this morning.
According to Facebook posts from the Township of Whitewate Region, the break occurred on Gould Street on Thursday, January 22nd.
As a result of the break, a boil water advisory has been issued for the Cobden Drinking Water System by the Renfrew County District Health Unit due to a loss of system pressure.
Residents are advised to bring their water to a rolling boil for a full minute before using it for domestic purposes like drinking, making baby formula or brushing their teeth.
As of an update posted to Facebook at 12:59 p.m. on January 23rd, repairs have been completed, water service has been reinstated and flushing is currently underway. Residents who see discolored water come out of their taps are urged to run their taps on cold until the water becomes clear.
The boil water advisory will remain in effect until further notice. Cobden Public School is also closed today as a result of the water main break.
