Ontario Provincial Police have charged a Petawawa resident in connection with an alleged intimate partner violence incident that left one person seriously injured.
Upper Ottawa Valley OPP say officers were called to a residence in Petawawa around 3:10 a.m. on Jan. 20 for a report of an incident in progress. Police say one person was taken into custody at the scene, while the victim was transported to hospital by Renfrew County paramedics with serious injuries.
A 47-year-old Petawawa resident has been charged with assault causing bodily harm — spousal, forcible confinement and failure to comply with an undertaking under the Criminal Code.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.
