Renfrew County remains on the frontlines for advocating for rural communities across Eastern Ontario.
Local warden Jennifer Murphy was welcomed to the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus’ Annual General Meeting over the weekend, where she immediately joined their Board of Directors for 2026.
The EOWC, a non-profit organization which works alongside local governments, businesses, organizations, Indigenous leaders, and the public to champion regional and municipal priorities for the 1.1 million residents within its 13 member counties, used the meeting to work on strategies for maintaining economic resilience, municipal infrastructure, housing, and health care.
Their AGO comes on the heels of the release of a pre-budget consultation document for the provincial government, which makes seven recommendations aimed a strengthening economic resilience, improving quality of life, and building a more prosperous eastern Ontario.
