It’s important for fire hydrants to remain clear of snow so that they can be accessed quickly in an emergency.
Despite the best efforts of Town Staff, snowfall may still leave some fire hydrants obstructed. A clearly visible, accessible fire hydrant could save your home – or even your life.
If shoveling is not a health concern for you, please consider clearing 1 meter or 3 feet around any fire hydrants near your home during and after a snowstorm if Town staff may have not had a chance to clear it yet.
