Bonnechere Valley Mayor Jennifer Murphy says she has a level of comfort in returning as Warden for the County of Renfrew following her December 10th selection by her Upper Tier peers.
Murphy says stuff that retiring Warden Peter Emon put in place during his tenure is coming to fruition.
Of course the four-laning of Highway 17 will still require that “extra push”.
A potential boon are discussions centring around the Timminico Magnesium property in Whitewater Region.
Murphy says if processing of the extracted magnesium could be done locally, so much the better.
The Warden has some plans she’s keeping close to the vest for now.
Jennifer Murphy believes it’s time to formalize the position of “Deputy Warden”, and terms of reference are being developed for County Council’s consideration.
Murphy was previously Warden of the County of Renfrew from 2017-2019.
