Ron Gervais has been the Mayor of Pembroke since being elected in 2022, after serving three terms as deputy mayor. The year 2025 brought many challenges to the city, but Gervais was there every step of the way and is looking forward to 2026.
There were many highlights in 2025 that stand out in his mind, but chief among them were the many cultural happenings around the city that make Pembroke the place to be year-round.
Infrastructure is always a challenge when it comes to maintaining any urban environment, and Pembroke is no exception.
2026 is an election year, and Gervais has already said he will throw his hat back in the ring in hopes of securing another term.
A number of projects are already in the works, or at least in the planning stages, for the coming year, says Gervais, all of which have the betterment of the city in mind.
Gervais is grateful for the support he has received this past year, and he is looking forward to another great year at the helm of the largest municipality in the Valley.
All the best to everyone in 2026.
