If you happen to be covered in fur and have four paws you have a very good friend in Heather Jobe. Heather is the Community Outreach Co-0ordinator of the Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Animal Centre.
Heather began our conversation by telling us what a lot of people are not aware of.
Some of the most successful fundraisers of the year in The Valley benefit the SPCA and every year they get bigger and better, according to Jobe.
Picking out the highlights of a year can be tricky but Heather knows what really worked this past year and plans to make it happen again. Volunteering is one of the best ways to get involved, she says.
There are all kinds of plans already in the works for 2026 and Heather knows that the generosity of the community will make them work yet again.
Heather loves the idea that every animal she has the pleasure of knowing has a unique story. No one is the same as the other.
The adoption total for 2025 is truly remarkable. So may animals that did not stand a chance were saved by the community. Heather hopes 2026 will be even better.
