Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 12-year-old in connection with a break-in at a business on Petawawa Boulevard earlier this month.
Police say officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley detachment responded to an alarm at the business around 2 a.m. on Saturday, December 13th and found evidence of forced entry and theft. A quantity of vape products was reported stolen.
An OPP Scenes of Crime Officer assisted with the investigation, which led to charges being laid against a youth from Petawawa. The 12-year-old is charged with one count of breaking and entering and three counts of theft under $5,000.
The youth was released to a parent and is scheduled to appear in youth court at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke at a later date.
Police say an 11-year-old was also identified as being involved but was not charged because they are below the age of criminal responsibility.
