The Renfrew County Catholic District School Board has promoted Liam Young, a special education teacher at Bishop Smith Catholic High School, to the role of vice-principal at the school. Young has been with BSCHS for several years, supporting students across a range of programs, the board said in a statement Monday.
Liam Young began his career with the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board in 2019 as an occasional teacher. He spent two years in the United Kingdom working with students with special needs and at-risk youth before returning to Canada in 2021. He then held long-term occasional teaching roles at Cathedral and St. James, later joining Valleycrest in Pembroke as a permanent teacher from 2023 to 2025.
Most recently, Liam Young worked as a special education teacher at Bishop Smith Catholic High School. His extensive experience with special needs and at-risk students, the board said, will be an asset as he assumes his new role as vice-principal at the school.
