Santa Claus is coming to the Town of Petawawa this weekend.
An array of Christmas celebrations are being held in the town on Saturday, December 6th, including its annual Santa Claus Parade.
The first event, called “Sensory Santa,” will allow kids with sensory processing disorders and autism to meet with Santa in a calm, quiet environment at the Visitor Information Centre located at 15 Norman Street.
That event is scheduled to run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A few hours later at 6:00 p.m., the parade will begin, starting at Petawawa Plaza at 20 Wolfe Avenue.
The route will move along Mohns Avenue before turning onto Doran Road, then to Murphy Road and crossing Petawawa Boulevard before making its way to its end point at the Petawawa Civic Centre.
After the parade, a tree lighting is set to take place at 16 Civic Centre Road in order to kick off the holiday season. A holiday tailgate market is also being held at the same location until 9:00 p.m.
A full breakdown of all of Petawawa’s Christmas events can be found on the town’s website.
