A motorist has been charged in connection with a collision on Highway 17 Tuesday morning.
The collision, which took place shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2nd at the intersection of the highway and Whitewater Road, involved a dump truck and a tractor trailer.
The crash caused a stretch of Highway 17 near Pembroke to be closed for several hours for cleanup, as the dump truck spilled a load of soil.
In the immediate aftermath of the crash, officers said one person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
According to an OPP press release issued at 3:45 p.m. on December 2nd, both drivers sustained minor injuries and were ultimately taken to hospital.
The driver of the dump truck has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act for failing to stop at a red light.
