The Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation (AOPFN) hosted the 2025 AOPFN Career & Entrepreneurship Fair on Thursday designed to connect job seekers, students and entrepreneurs with employers and business leaders from across the region.
The fair offered opportunities to explore career paths, network and take meaningful steps toward personal and professional growth.
Kyle Robinson, Pikwakanagan Communications Lead says that second annual fair eclipsed last year’s inaugural effort surpassing attendance and overall participation by a fair margin:
Robinson goes on to say that those who attended yesterday were in a very good position to have come away with lots of new and fresh career ideas that they might not have even thought about before:
Lise Fortin, Post Secondary Counsellor at Algonquins of Pikawakanagan’s First Nation was busy directing students who attended to any of the 30 or so booths which included representatives from Parks Ontario to the OPP and everything in between. Lise says that she relishes the opportunity to be able to guide students in directions that best suit their academic and personal goals.
Organizers say that this job fair is definitely going to remain an annual event and details of next year’s offering will be forthcoming.
