This past Saturday night while freezing rain pelted the city for most of the night, many still braved the weather to head to Fitzy’s Sports Bar for Rhythms of Giving in support of Blanche Ducey and her Got You in Mind store.
The packed house were treated to great local bands, tons of raffles and community spirit as funds were raised for Blanche and her long standing store in the heart of Pembroke. Organizer Brian Abdallah tells my FM that the evening went beyond the amount of money needed to be raised:
The evening saw performances by a whole lineup of talented local performers, including the RE-A-RANGERS, Northbound, LumberXown, Dee Myler, and CHI.
Known for her generosity and empathy, Got You In Mind owner Blanche Ducey has spent years helping community members in need and lifting others through her compassion and kindness. This kind of compassion coming from someone who herself has seen difficult times is what makes the evening as special as it was.
Abdallah notes that it was far from a singular effort:
Blanche herself was there of course and she was very thankful for the support of the community. Nearly $2,000 was raised during the evening and Brian urges anyone who would still like to donate towards the cause to contact him directly at 613-312-6789 or you can drop it off at Got You in Mind store Tuesday through Saturday.
