Tim Hortons’ third annual Holiday Smile Cookie campaign returns to Pembroke and Petawawa from Nov. 17 to 23, with 100 percent of proceeds supporting the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation and Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.
The Holiday Smile Cookie is a white chocolate sugar cookie filled with red and green sprinkles and finished with a hand-decorated white icing smile. It’s a festive way to treat family, friends, and co-workers while giving back to the community.
Just ask Leigh Costello and Roger Martin from the PRH Foundation, who were busy putting icing eyes and smiles on hundreds of cookies at the Tim Hortons in west-end Pembroke on Sunday afternoon.
This year’s donation from the Holiday Smile Cookie campaign will go toward the purchase of a new HUGS Infant Security System for the littlest PRH patients.
In a press release issued late last week, Andy Burns, co-owner and operator of the McCluskey Group, said:
“We are very excited to partner with the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation for this year’s campaign! It makes us feel very good to know that funds raised will go directly towards critical paediatric equipment at the hospital that services our community and our teams.”
Roger Martin says the HUGS system has been a long-term goal due to its high cost, so this Smile Cookie campaign will go a long way toward that end. He says:
Last year’s sales of Holiday Smile Cookies raised nearly $12,000 for the Foundation, and organizers are hoping to surpass that total this year.
The cost is $2 per cookie, and with 100 percent of that going to two incredible charities, there’s a whole lot more to smile about this holiday season.
