Two venerated members of Renfrew County Council will go head-to-head for the position of Warden for 2026.
Nominations closed as of Noon today (November 14th), and on the ballot will be Admaston-Bromley Mayor Michael Donohue and Bonnechere Valley Township Mayor Jennifer Murphy.
Murphy served three consecutive terms in the role, from 2017 through 2019 until replaced by current Waren Peter Emon.
Donohue has yet to serve in the role, but is known as a strong advocate for fiscal conservatism, budget restraint, and long-term financial sustainability.
A ballot vote by the 17 County Councillors will take place on December 10th, 2025 during the Inaugural Session of County Council to decide who will assume the Office of the Warden of the County of Renfrew for 2026.
