Graeme Fraser is the District Governor for Rotary District 7040 (2025–2026), which spans Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec, Upper New York State, and Iqaluit.
A dedicated Rotarian since 1989, he attended Arnprior Rotary’s meeting Monday November 10th.
Fraser is know for his emphasis on membership growth and community engagement.
And that’s part of the issue. Canada’s Rotarians are an aging bunch.
Strategies can include subsidiary groups from younger demographics who graduate to become full Rotarians.
Fraser says modesty is an obstacle- and clubs should engage in greater self-promotion to build awareness in the wider community.
Discussions are underway to assign a specified individual mandated to grow clubs and membership in the District,
and Carleton Place’s Olga Ialovenko- a Rotarian since her days in Ukraine, appears to be ear-marked for the role.
