Thousands of hockey players from all over Ontario will be coming to Pembroke over the next four weekends to compete in a regional section of the International Silver Stick tournament.
Games start on Friday for those in U11B Tier 1 and U11B Tier 2.
Tournament Director Norbert Chaput spoke with myFM about the legacy of this particular competition.
All games are free to attend and Chaput hopes residents will take the time to support local athletes and watch some great hockey.
Chaput notes this is not just about sports, as hosting the tournament has a major economic impact for the Ottawa Valley.
