The King Charles Medal awarded to Blanche Ducey, Owner of the “Got You In Mind” thrift store has been reported stolen.
The medal was awarded to Ducey this past June 20th following the nomination made by local MP Cheryl Gallant at a ceremony in Renfrew.
The Coronation Medal program was established to commemorate the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. It honours Canadians who have made significant contributions to their province, territory, region, or community, or achieved notable accomplishments abroad that bring distinction to the country.
Across Canada, including nominations from the Governor General, a total of 30,000 medals were awarded to deserving recipients.
Ducey reported the medal stolen while she was in hospital recently and says that she is heart broken that someone would take something with so much sentimental value.
Anyone with any information about the theft is urged to contact police.
