The Pembroke Public Library is marking a significant facility upgrade with the installation of a new shed, made possible through the efforts of several community partners. The project combined civic leadership, skilled trades education, and local industry support.
Library CEO Karthi Rajamani highlighted the role of Councillor Troy Purcell, who not only provided leadership but also personally helped dismantle the old structure. Construction was guided by Adam Johns, coordinator of Algonquin College’s General Carpenter Apprenticeship program, with students from the 2024–2025 Carpentry and Renovation Techniques course gaining hands-on experience. The shed’s delivery and placement were managed by Paul Hammel and his crew at Fifth Line Transport, who ensured the installation was handled with care.
Rajamani expressed gratitude on behalf of the library, thanking all contributors for their time, effort, and teamwork in helping the library remain a “cornerstone of learning, connection, and enrichment.”
