Now that Fall is in the air it’s time once again for the BGC Club of Renfrew County to roll out their new programming schedule and once again, there is literally something for everyone between the ages of 4 and 14.
Connor McGuire, Marketing and Fundraising Co-ordinator for the Renfrew Chapter tells myFM that the list is literally too long to recite but gives us a sample of what’s available this Fall:
The list goes on to include, arts, science, boardgames and and activities that will appeal to kids of all ages. The Club House is located at the Wesley United Church at 275 Pembroke Street East and all of the programs run from Monday to Friday at varying times. Membership is only $40 annually and that gets you unlimited activities – almost impossible to find a better deal anywhere!
What makes the Club special, says McGuire is the fact that the diversity of membership means a sense of belonging regardless of age, gender of socioeconomic status and thats what’s made the Club so successful for so long:
Many wonder if because the Club House is located in a church whether the Club has a religious affiliation and the answer is that BGC is a non religious organization, further underscoring the fact that everyone belongs.
One of the best parts about the programs, from a parent’s standpoint, is that they do not need to be present when their child is participating which makes it an ideal short term child care solution.:
