The Kitchissippi-Ottawa Valley Climate Matters Group is mobilizing on two fronts Saturday as part of a National Seniors Day on Climate Action.
Spokesperson Ann Pohl says the principal front will be a rally in Eganville on September 20th.
Ann says overcome your inertia; activism is the antidote to despair.
The demo portion of the morning will come on loud and proud.
Once participants have finished yelling themselves hoarse, they’ll be all ears to listen to what Warden Peter Emon and other dignitaries have to say about local climate initiatives.
Sherry Dion, of the Algonquin Indigenous Hub, Nenaawateg, Duncan Noble and Paul Isaac will discuss various topics- followed by a social time.
A lesser contingent of the Climate Matters activists are heading to the Nation’s Capital.

Participants will gather at 11 AM on Saturday, September 20th, 2025 at the Tourist Info Booth parking lot in Eganville, for a street presence with placards, bells, and banners.
Speakers start at Noon at the Gerald Tracy Park amphitheatre (moving to the Gazebo if weather does not cooperate).
This will be followed by a social time for discussions and mingling.
