Mick , Walter Grant
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Wally Mick on August 30, 2025. Wally was a man of great strength and love, and a devoted husband to Helen for 60 years, a cherished father to Grant, a proud grandfather to Dan, and a beloved Godfather to Eva Fraser and Teddy Dupuis.
Wally was born in Pembroke on March 11, 1943 to Walter Mick and Doris Sutton, and had two sisters, Phyllis (Servais) and Winnifred. He was known for his passion for golf, gardening, travel and the Toronto Maple Leafs and for his unwavering dedication to his family and community. After a long career of public service, he was a regular volunteer with the Cancer Society and Carefor and made a positive difference in the lives of many.
Wally’s legacy of kindness and hard work will live on through his family and the many lives he touched. He is survived by his wife, son, and grandson, and will be dearly missed. Wally’s rich life was touched by many beloved family and friends, with close lifelong relationships with David and Sandra Fraser and family, Bruce and Lada Dupuis and their lovely children Teddy and Anya, and Raymond and Ruby Bell and family, with whom so many special occasions were celebrated and memories made.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday September, 13, 2025 at 11am at Wesley United Church in Pembroke, preceded by a visitation at the church from 9:30am that day. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Charity of your choice in Wally’s memory.
We would like to thank the staff at Pembroke Regional Hospital and at the Neurosurgery Department of the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus for their kindness and attentive care.
Arrangements entrusted to the Murphy Funeral Home, Pembroke.
