The Town of Petawawa Public Works Department, in collaboration with the Town of Petawawa Fire Department and Ontario Clean Water Agency, is asking for your cooperation in conserving our potable water supply by suspending all lawn watering effective September 2, 2025.
Starting on this date, one of our water tower reservoirs will be taken offline for a full refurbishment. This important infrastructure project will extend the life of the tower for decades to come and ensure long-term reliability of our water system. The refurbishment is expected to last through September and October.
During this period, the reduction in stored water capacity – combined with ongoing dry conditions – necessitates the implementation of lawn watering restrictions to ensure sufficient water reserves are available. The restriction will remain in effect for the entire duration of the project.
Please note:
• Lawn watering is prohibited during this time.
• Residents may continue to water flower beds, trees, and vegetable gardens.
• Residents may experience minor water pressure fluctuations throughout the duration of the project.
The Town is committed to maintaining a reliable water supply for all residents, and it is essential that we preserve enough capacity to support emergency fire response and firefighting operations.
We thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this essential capital project. For questions or more information, please contact the Town of Petawawa’s Public Works Department.
