The Fair runs August 28 to September 1. Now in its 169th year since its founding in 1856, the Shawville Fair has earned its reputation as “The Valley’s Most Family Friendly Fair.”
With five days of agriculture, music, entertainment, and activities for all ages, the fair truly has something for everyone—from cheering at the Demo Derby to wandering through the petting zoo with little ones.
A Celebration of Agriculture
Agriculture remains at the heart of Expo Shawville. Fairgoers can take in a full schedule of exhibitions showcasing the best in local farming and livestock:
Cattle, Sheep, and Horse Shows where farmers and 4-H members proudly present their animals.
The Horse Pull, a thrilling test of strength and teamwork.
Homecraft Exhibits inside the halls, featuring baking, quilting, preserves, crafts and more—each item a reflection of rural talent and community pride.
Looking for thrills? The Demolition Derby delivers roaring engines, flying mud, and metal-crunching excitement as drivers compete in one of the fair’s most action-packed events.
Don’t miss the Truck and Tractor Pulls, where raw power and precision collide as competitors attempt to out-pull their rivals in a classic show of rural horsepower. Whether you’re a motorsport enthusiast or a first-time spectator, these events are guaranteed crowd-pleasers.
Family Fun at Every Turn
True to its title as the Valley’s most family friendly fair, Shawville offers a wide range of kid-focused activities and attractions. Young animal lovers will adore the Petting Zoo and Pony Rides, where they can meet and interact with gentle farm animals up close.
Throughout the fairgrounds, Family-Friendly Activities abound, including games, crafts, and interactive zones designed to keep children entertained and engaged all day long.
