Relief is on way from the heat, but the Ottawa Valley will have to handle another day under a heat warning.
Environment Canada says to brace for daytime highs between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius and humidex values reaching 40 today before a cooler air mass rolls through Tuesday evening.
Extreme heat can affect everyone’s health and cause air quality to drop, creating adverse conditions for those at greater risk of heat illness. Plan outdoor activities for the coolest parts of the day, drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty, and wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing.
Check for signs of heat exhaustion in yourself and others, such as headache, nausea, dizziness, thirst, dark urine, and intense fatigue. If you or someone else notices these symptoms, stop what you’re doing and drink water.
