Ottawa OPP Constable Mike Fathi, Ottawa firefighter Devin Babin, and Renfrew OPP Constable Brianna Babin in front of some of the emergency vehicles that could use your cooperation on local roads
Renfrew County has been represented as part of the OPP’s latest call to action for local drivers.
Renfrew OPP Constable Brianna Babin joined Ottawa OPP Constable Mike Fathi and Ottawa firefighter Devin Babin in a message to communities from the city to the valley reminding everyone on the road to be ready to react when an emergency vehicle is on the way to save lives.
Audio PlayerEven if moving all the way over is not possible, the trio explain that commuters are still required to slow down to well under the speed limit and try to move away from the centre of the road as much as possible.
Audio PlayerThey add that ignoring an emergency vehicle trying to make its way through traffic not only puts lives in danger, but it also comes with a price tag that nobody should want to deal with.
Audio PlayerBoth local police and fire services want everyone on the road to make it to their destination safely, noting that traffic safety laws are in place to make sure that happens.
