L/R - Julie Kelly, CHEO's Kim Banks and Mike Kelly
The 2025 CHEO Golf Tournament went this past Saturday at Roanoke and despite the heat it was a packed course with all proceeds going to the children’s Hospital.
Mike and Julie Kelly are the parents of Cara Kelly who was a patient at CHEO and Kelly tells myFM that events like the annual tournament are a great time to remind people of the importance of CHEO to the entire Ottawa Valley:
Mike Kelly speaks specifically about their experience with the Roger Nielson Children’s Hospice which is only one of a handful of pediatric hospice palliative care facilities across Canada.
Kim Banks Senior Corporate Development Officer for CHEO was on hand Saturday representing CHEO. She remarked that even though Valley communities such as Pembroke are somewhat removed from the Ottawa hospital its even more critical that events such as The Brick Tournament remind everyone that the facility is always there when needed:
Banks goes on to say that she felt like it was a must that she be there as this is one of the highlight fundraisers of the year for CHEO:
The event was hosted by Patti Bailey owner of The Brick Pembroke and a raft of terrific sponsors helped make the day a huge success. As soon as the tally for the day is available we will share that info right here at Pembroketoday.ca
