There’s nothing quite like the freshness of fruits and veggies right out of the garden in the summertime, especially if the yield is headed to a community food bank for those a little less fortunate to enjoy.
Sharlene Dilts of Golden Lake is proud to oversee just such a project which is in its second season of development thanks in large part to a government grant which helped to get the project started last year and in full yield this season.
100% of all of the proceeds from the sale of the crop go to the Golden lake Food Bank. It’s a lot of work say Dilts but she says that they get helping hands now and then to help make the work easier:
It can be a lot of fun when everyone pitches in so Sharlene says they all make a day of it and it becomes a great way to socialize within the community:
