A Township of Laurentian Valley resident is facing a Criminal Code (CC) impaired driving charge after the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle collision at a local restaurant.
In the early morning hours of July 8, 2025, members of the UOV OPP responded to a single vehicle collision after it was reported that a vehicle had driven into a restaurant in the Township of Laurentian Valley. The driver was arrested by police at the scene and transported to the detachment for further testing.
As a result of the incident 39-year-old Jean-Michel LAVERGNE has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol.
The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 3 days. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on July 29, 2025.
