Laurentian Valley Township celebrated their annual “I Love LV” Community Fair on Saturday, June 14th and it was a huge success!
Chris Neff, Community Development Officer for The Town of Laurentian Valley told myFM that there was a little something for everyone on the day:
On top of being a picture perfect weather day Neff was pleasantly surprised by the turnout which exceeded even his expectations:
To mark Literacy Volunteers’ 25th anniversary, a free community BBQ and cake were offered, featuring Uncle Jim’s beef burgers. Live music was provided by the John Pieibe Band.
One of the highlights this year was the “Laurentian Valley Business Showcase.” LV Township businesses were invited to participate free of charge to showcase their products or services. Many of the region’s most popular businesses were featured on the day.
The highlight of the day, according to Neff was a very special surprise appearance by a very familiar local face:
Chris says that he is thrilled that so many folks from Laurentian Valley and visitors were able to attend the event. Another special moment for him was sharing the stage with his Grandfather Jack Wilson who was one of the longest reigning mayors in Ontario history at 50 years with LV.
Plans are already underway for next years celebration!
