The City of Pembroke is advising the public of its annual emergency exercise scheduled for Wednesday, June 18.
The initiative is expected to run from 8 a.m. to about 2 p.m.
“The goal of emergency exercises such as these is to better prepare our organization to respond effectively to real-life emergencies,” reads a press release. “We will put into practise and validate our emergency response plan, our procedures, and our capabilities.”
Officials say this year’s exercise will be in a drill format. There will be minimal resources deployed, meaning there should be little impact to operations.
“We do not expect any road closures, so traffic will not be impacted,” reads the release. “Radio transmissions essential to the exercise will start and end with, “Exercise! Exercise! Exercise!”
