The City of Pembroke is counting down the days to its Canada Day celebration taking place on June 30 and July 1, 2025.
Festivities begin on June 30, with the City hosting a free barbecue at Riverside Park (while quantities last), starting at 5:30 p.m. The evening will feature the Oh Canada Eh! dinner show, beginning at 6:30 p.m. This interactive, family-friendly show brings comedy and Canadian pride. During the evening, there will be a free tie-dye station, and Ry-J’s inflatable bounce houses will be on-site to entertain the children all evening. The finale of the evening will feature an outdoor movie, Mufasa: The Lion King under the stars. Free popcorn (while quantities last), sponsored by Smitty’s Home Hardware, will be provided.
Starting at noon on July 1, Canada Day kicks off with an opening ceremony hosted by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 72, followed by a performance from the Legion’s band. After the opening ceremony, all are welcome to enjoy a variety of exciting activities, including an interactive bubble show, a petting zoo, alpacas, walk-around performers, boat rides on the Ottawa River, and two birds of prey shows. The fun continues throughout the afternoon with an interactive Pirate Life show, live music by Adam Fieldhouse at the amphitheatre, and themed crafts and face painting for children. There will be a variety of inflatables for everyone to enjoy. You can also browse numerous craft and food vendors. To celebrate 25 years of the waterfront redevelopment, there will be a special presentation at 2:00 p.m., followed by a free barbecue and cake.
Our two-day celebration will conclude at Riverside Park with live music, food vendors, and fireworks, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Bring a picnic blanket or a lawn chair and enjoy live music from Stereotypical. Food vendors will also be on site. Our fireworks display will light up the night skies, courtesy of the Pembroke Professional Firefighters’ Association.
