It’s already been three months since the untimely passing of one of Pembroke’s favorite sons; Jamie Bramburger. Needless to say, the family has been very busy since and behind the scenes, conversations have been going on about how to best memorialize Jamie especially with respect to his long time ties with The PMC.
Jamie’s wife Barb Bramburger took time to come into the myFM studios recently to talk to us about how some of these plans have been coming along.
As the result of a number of donations following Jamie’s death earmarked for The PMC, Barb sat down with a handful of key people to discuss the best approach to honoring Jamie. Among those involved in the brainstorming session were Jordan Durocher, Director of Recreation for The City of Pembroke, Joe Brown and Jo-Anne Schutt, Facilities Booking Coordinator . Barb admits that she went in with an open mind and was very pleased with many of the ideas that were floated:
The “Suite” of course refers to the private box at the far end of the arena . The official name has not yet been decided upon, says Barb but will include a number of personal items belonging to Jamie as a fitting tribute:
Another nice touch will involve new signage near the broadcast booth where Jamie spent nearly 30 years calling the Lumber Kings games.
Barb shared with me the fact that it’s still early days for her and the family but they are all pulling together and making the best of things which is just what Jamie would have wanted:
After this discussion, Barb informed me of a couple of other very exciting new pieces of information which she is eager to share very soon so stay tuned for more information!
