The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) OPP has charged three individuals with impaired driving following separate incidents reported between June 5 and June 8.
On June 5, around 2:00 p.m., police responded to a complaint of a suspicious driver in a detour line caused by an earlier serious crash. After roadside testing, Chanelle Kennedy, 34, of Deep River, was charged with impaired operation.
On June 8, just after 1:00 a.m., police received a report about a driver leaving a local establishment and driving away. Officers located the vehicle on Pembroke Street East. The driver, Alexander Howie, 26, of Almonte, was also charged with impaired operation.
Later that same day, around 6:00 p.m., a single-vehicle collision was reported on Palmer Rapids Road in Brundell-Lyndoch-Raglan Township. The driver, John Mayhew, 52, from the same township, was identified and charged with impaired operation following roadside testing.
Each accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days. Their vehicles were impounded for seven days, and all were released to appear in court at a future date in Pembroke.
The OPP reminds all drivers that impaired driving is dangerous and illegal, and officers continue to respond swiftly to public complaints.
