The revised offer for settlement remains identical to CNL’s previous offer except for a small increase in benefits and the removal of negotiating smaller offer space directly with members. This latest offer did not provide the economic increase sought by the members nor a substantial significant increase in the health and dental benefits that have not been increased in 25 years.
The bargaining/negotiating team has decided to hold a ratification vote on the CNL Company’s latest offer of settlement to determine how the membership would like to proceed with our ongoing labour dispute. The ratification vote on the offer for settlement will take place June 17 to June 19. Until the results of the vote are announced, all strike action will be put on hold.
This means that the picket lines as well as our work-to-rule campaign will be put in abeyance. The outcome of the ratification vote will direct the bargaining team membership on how to proceed. The bargaining team membership remains fully prepared and resourced to implement escalating strike actions if the members provide this mandate.
