During the Spring Fashion Show & Luncheon on May 7, held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church Hall in Pembroke, the Pembroke Regional Hospital (PRH) Auxiliary presented a $50,000 cheque to PRH President and CEO Sabine Mersmann. The donation will help purchase new Bone Density Test equipment for the hospital, which is valued at $150,000.
The funds were raised through a mix of community support and ongoing Auxiliary efforts. A major part of the donation came from Delta Bingo & Gaming Pembroke. The Auxiliary also contributed from its general account, which includes proceeds from the hospital’s Gift Shop, the Mural Café, TV rentals, and the on-site ATM. Additional funds came from the sale of HELPP lottery tickets.
This $50,000 donation is the second payment from the Auxiliary toward its full $150,000 pledge to fund the equipment. Once fully funded, the new bone density machine will help doctors better detect and treat conditions like osteoporosis, improving care for many patients in the region.
PRH CEO Sabine Mersmann thanked the Auxiliary and community partners for their ongoing support, saying their efforts play a vital role in improving healthcare services in Pembroke. The Auxiliary continues to be a key part of the hospital’s fundraising success and commitment to patient care.
