Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid several Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) related Criminal Code (CC) charges against an Oshawa resident.
On the morning of June 1, 2025, at approximately 7:00 a.m., police responded to an IPV incident in progress at a residence in Pembroke. One of the involved individuals fled the residence on foot prior to police arrival. Responding officers, along with the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Canine Unit, searched the area but were unable to locate the person at the time. Police located and arrested the individual in downtown Pembroke that afternoon.
Investigation found that threats had been made, and property was damaged.
As a result of this incident a 35-year-old from Oshawa, Ontario, has been charged with the following CC offences:
- Mischief
- Assault
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
The accused was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on a future date. The name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
