The City of Pembroke is teaming up with Dragonfly Family and Learning Services to host the Park Social Club — a free and inclusive event series designed for neurodivergent children and their families.
These relaxed, drop-in gatherings will take place at Rotary Park Playground on Saturday, June 21st, and Saturday, August 23rd, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The Park Social Club is open to children of all ages, including their siblings and caregivers. It offers a calm and welcoming space for families who may find traditional playdates or large community events overwhelming. Many of the children who attend may have autism, ADHD, sensory needs, or other neurodivergent traits.
The goal of the club is to create fun and social play opportunities for children, while giving parents and caregivers a chance to connect with each other in a judgment-free environment.
The program is led by Erin Curtis, Director of Dragonfly and a Certified ABA Parent Educator. Erin is a neurodiverse professional with over ten years of experience working with neurodivergent children and families — and is also a proud parent of a neurodivergent child herself.
The City of Pembroke is proud to support inclusive initiatives like the Park Social Club that help build a stronger, more connected community for all families.
