Tim Hortons’ annual Smile Cookie campaign has wrapped up for 2025 and what a drive it was! The cross Canada event to support local charities sees 100 per cent of proceeds from each Smile Cookie — a chocolate chunk treat decorated with a signature pink and blue icing smile — go to a designated community organization.
The recipient of this years Ottawa Valley proceeds go to CPAN – The Community Poverty Action Network and Executive Director Chela Breckon couldn’t be happier with the results!
Chela is really pleased that they were able to pull slightly ahead of last years take of just over $28,000 especially as she is well aware that everyone is struggling to make ends meet these days:
Many are facing harder times than usual and when folks dig deeper to help such a worthy cause it’s really heartening. Breckon is well aware of the challenges faced:
A special thanks goes out to all of the invaluable volunteers from this years campaign especially to a select group of folks who Chela says deserve a special pat on the back:
Another very positive aspect of this years drive, according to Breckon, was the number of teenagers who showed up to volunteer indicating that the youth of today are more dialed in to community involvement than ever before.
