Pembroke Fire Chief Scott Selle
Emergency Preparedness Week 2025 wrapped up this past Saturday and Pembroke Fire Chief Scott Selle shared his thoughts on a very important time of year for his department.
Selle preaches a common sense approach to fire safety and also as the Community Emergency Management Coordinator he speaks to all other aspects of safety preparedness. He stresses that getting the message out to kids of all ages is where the whole process truly starts:
Selle says that the presentations are branching out into the high schools now and even to some seniors residences to get the message of all round safety across.
When asked how The Chief’s approach to crafting his message has changed, he says that he is on a learning curve as well and that helps to continually hone his messages:
With the massive influx of social media platforms that have cropped up over the years, Selle says that one of the advantages of this deluge is that there are more platforms available to spread the message:
Despite many years of safety awareness campaigns which contain more common sense messages than anything, Selle laments that in many cases the word is just not getting across as to the importance of basic measures of home and personal safety:
If you have any questions or concerns when it comes to safety of any kind, feel free to contact Chief Selle at the Pembroke Fire Department and he will be happy to address your issue. Stay safe!
