Thomas Joseph Parr died peacefully March 6th 2025 at Pembroke Regional Hospital. Born 13 January, 1936 at Lloydminster, AB to Phyllis Elizabeth Hill and Sydney Francis Parr. Beloved husband of Joan (nee Godin), Pembroke. Loved Father of Colleen (Derek) Lindley, Pembroke. Dear Brother of Sisters; Anne (Giovanni) Marchi, 100 Mile House, BC; and Grace Labossiere, Kamloops, BC. He is predeceased by his parents; son Kevin; Sister Ethel, and Brother David. Loving grandfather of Katie (James) O’Sullivan, Bolton, ON; Tyler (Megan) Parr, Pembroke, ON; Kyle (Amber) Lindley, Pembroke, ON; and Erica (Corey) Campbell, Pembroke; and Cherished great-grandchildren: Joseph, Savannah, Hallie, Jacob, Everlie, Rowan, Marlowe, Reese, Nellie and Jude. Step grandchildren Piper, Paddy and Lexi as well as many nieces and nephews. Tom served in the Canadian Army (Regular) for fifteen years, having served two rotations to Germany; under NATO and upon leaving the military; entered Teachers College at the University of Toronto and subsequently taught at Fellows High School Pembroke, retiring after 25 years of teaching. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion and was a Lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Dragoons Association. He was a member of St. Columbkille’s Cathedral Parish; and was a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Pembroke Council 1531.
By request, there will be no visitation as per Thomas’ wishes. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday April 30, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Columbkille’s Cathedral, Pembroke. Interment St. Columba’s Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to St. Joseph’s Food Bank, St. Vincent de Paul Society, The Grind Pembroke or a charity of the donors choosing.
