The Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation is excited to announce the return of its annual fundraising event, Heroes Run for Healthcare, presented by Canadian Nuclear Laboratories. The event will take place on Sunday, May 4th, in downtown Pembroke, bringing the community together to support local healthcare.
This year’s event includes a 2km hero-themed run for kids, sponsored by Bradley Law, and a 5km timed community run, sponsored by MacEwen. “The Heroes Run brings our community together for a common goal each spring, to support local healthcare,” said Planning Committee Chair Scott Coombes.
Funds raised from the event will go toward purchasing essential equipment for Pembroke Regional Hospital, ensuring that the community continues to have access to state-of-the-art healthcare services. “Our goal is to keep high-quality healthcare close to home,” said Roger Martin, Executive Director of the PRH Foundation.
The 2km kids run will be filled with fun activities, including superhero “meet and greets” and a special superhero cape for each child who completes the race. Tammy Blackmore, the organizer of the Kids Run, encourages participants to wear their superhero costumes and enjoy a fun-filled experience while making a difference for local healthcare.
Registration is now open, with a fee of $10 for children aged 12 and under for the 2km fun run, while the 5km run costs $35 per person. A group rate of $150 is also available for schools, youth organizations, and sports teams wishing to participate in the 5km run.
To register, visit www.heroesrun.ca or www.prhfoundation.com, or contact Leigh Costello at leigh.costello@prh.ca for group registration inquiries.
Participants are encouraged to fundraise for the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation, with prizes awarded to top fundraisers. The individual raising the most money will win a $500 prize, and those who raise over $100 will be entered into a draw for a one-year family pool pass for the Best Western Pembroke Inn & Conference Centre.
