A Township of Laurentian Valley (TLV) resident is facing Criminal Code (CC) impaired driving charges following an incident in the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment area. The incident took place on February 8, at around 2:30 a.m. when OPP officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver in Petawawa.
Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Pembroke Street West in TLV. During the investigation, a Roadside Screening Device was used, and the driver was taken to the detachment for further testing.
As a result, a 25-year-old Laurentian Valley resident was charged with two Criminal Code offences: operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over 80mg.
Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.
