The Pembroke and Area Special Olympics Hoop Dogs basketball team has once again shown their strength and teamwork, emerging victorious in a recent exhibition game against members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
The much-anticipated rematch took place on the evening of February 10, in Pembroke. Right from the start, the Hoop Dogs took control, jumping out to an early lead that they never lost. Their strong offensive performance made all the difference, and by the end of the game, the Hoop Dogs secured a decisive 47-21 victory.
In recognition of their hard work and excellent sportsmanship, every player on the Hoop Dogs team received a Dominos Pizza Good Samaritan Ticket. This special ticket is good for a free small pizza at local Dominos locations, offering a tasty treat for their dedication on the court.
The game highlighted the spirit of the Special Olympics and the teamwork between local athletes and community partners, such as the OPP. The Pembroke and Area Hoop Dogs continue to be a source of pride for the community, showing that with teamwork, determination, and support, anything is possible.
