The Renfrew County Catholic District School Board (RCCDSB) is excited to announce the construction of a new daycare facility at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in Pembroke. Frecon Construction Ltd. of Pembroke has been awarded the $3.77 million contract to build the facility, with construction set to begin in Spring 2025 and expected completion in 2026.
Leaps and Bounds Children’s Centre, operated by Arnprior and District Child Care Services, will manage the daycare and provide high-quality care for children aged zero to four years. Derek Lennox, Superintendent of Educational Services, shared, “This new daycare is a testament to our commitment to serving families in the community and providing a strong foundation for our youngest learners.”
The new facility will feature separate rooms for different age groups. There will be an infant room, providing space for 10 infants with individualized care, and a toddler room for 15 toddlers, designed with age-appropriate activities and learning experiences. Additionally, there will be two preschool rooms, with a combined capacity for 48 children, aimed at preparing preschoolers for kindergarten through engaging, play-based learning.
Leaps and Bounds will begin accepting registrations for the daycare in Spring 2026. The RCCDSB plans to provide further updates to the community as more details about the project become available.
