The Pembroke Fire Department responded to a report of a garage fire on Mary Street on Sunday morning at approximately 11:45 a.m. Upon arrival, the department deployed one pumper truck and the duty crew. Thanks to a quick and efficient response, firefighters managed to control the fire, preventing it from spreading to the nearby house. However, the garage and its contents sustained significant smoke and heat damage.
The fire was reported by a passerby who noticed smoke coming from the garage and immediately called 9-1-1. The Pembroke Fire Department emphasizes the importance of storing non-combustible ash bins in a safe outdoor location, away from any combustibles, to prevent fire risks.
A total of 11 firefighters and three fire trucks responded to the incident.
