If you are a Tragically Hip groupie then you won’t want to miss Grace 2- The Tragically Hip Tribute coming to Festival Hall. Tomorrow starting at 7:30 p.m. Festival Hall will be booming with great music with all proceeds going towards a great cause. Band member Andy Wehrspann sat down with myFM to talk about why their mission is important to them and the broader audience.
Grace 2 was created over seven years ago, Wehrspann states that they want to carry on Gord Downie’s mission.
The Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund is part of Gord Downie’s legacy and embodies his commitment, and that of his family, to improving the lives of First Peoples in Canada. In collaboration with the Wenjack Family, the goal of the Fund is to continue the conversation that began with Chanie Wenjack’s residential school story and to aid our collective reconciliation journey through a combination of awareness, education, and action.
To add more to the night, there will be a Tragically Hip signed jersey being raffled off. When asked about why they created this tribute band, Andy had one thing to say…
All tickets sold, food & beverage sales, and proceeds from their raffle will go towards The Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund. To donate to the fund head over to https://downiewenjack.ca/support-us/.
