If you missed opening weekend of the Streetlight Theatre Company’s latest production, Godspell, fear not! There are still several opportunities to catch the show.
Kyle Gleason, who plays Jesus, said he hopes he’s done the “massive” role justice.
Gleason said when director Karen Keels was considering options for the next production, Godspell, written back in the early 1970s when the world was grappling with great social unrest, really spoke to her.
We still see unrest in the world today, said Gleason, and the production offers hope.
Gleason said he’s honoured to be a part of a really great show with an incredibly talented cast.
All of the theatre company’s factions have combined to make this production a success, he said.
Godspell’s songs are so powerful and the voices of Streetlight’s members up the ante for the production.
And while playing the role of Jesus was a bit daunting to begin with, Gleason said the part has really come together.
Gleason said the show has something for everyone and the venue itself, the old Bell Tower off TV Tower Road, converted into a black box-style theatre with the help of a recent grant, provides a unique, intimate experience.
There are limited tickets available for the remaining shows on Thursday, Nov. 14 and Friday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m.
